Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team at a Residential Care Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial tasks, or hospital environments is highly desirable. The Housekeeper will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents through professional cleaning and organisational skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and other designated spaces within the care home.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks meet health and safety standards, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly.
- Manage laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens and clothing.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistent standards are upheld.
- Assist with waste disposal in accordance with environmental policies and health regulations.
- Support the overall cleanliness of the environment to promote a safe living space for residents and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial roles, or hospital environments is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure thorough cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently within set timeframes.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices.
- Reliable with a positive attitude towards maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the care home setting.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare or residential care environment is advantageous but not essential. Pay: £12.82 per hour
