A welcoming and supportive primary school in Longsight, Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their teaching team on a long-term basis. About the Role
You will take responsibility for a primary class, planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum. You will be supported by experienced teaching staff and school leadership as you develop your classroom practice and progress through your Early Career Teacher induction.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
- Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Develop effective classroom and behaviour management strategies.
- Support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the SENCO and support staff where required.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with year-group colleagues and the wider teaching team.
- Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development opportunities.
- Reflect on teaching practice and respond positively to feedback and mentoring.
- Fulfil professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards and ECT framework.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is looking to complete their ECT induction.
- Has experience within a UK primary school through teaching placements or previous employment.
- Has a good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
- Is enthusiastic and passionate about developing a career in primary education.
- Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to classroom and behaviour management.
- Is reflective, organised and willing to learn from experienced colleagues.
- Has high expectations for pupils and is committed to supporting every child to make progress.
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
- Has the right to work in the UK.
Desirable, but Not Essential
- Experience teaching within EYFS, KS1 or KS2 through previous placements.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum.
- Experience working with pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.
