We're looking for a hands-on Same Day Transport Planner, who. will be responsible for planning and optimising delivery routes for our fleet of haulage vehicles to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant transportation of goods. You'll play an important role in maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do
-
Develop and optimize daily delivery routes for drivers based on customer requirements, traffic patterns, and vehicle availability.

Communicate with drivers to ensure a seamless process is followed each working day.

Monitor real-time traffic and weather conditions to make dynamic route adjustments.
- Maximise vehicle and driver utilisation to ensure deliveries are completed as efficiently as possible.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Use route planning and fleet management software to track vehicle movements and performance.

Utilise the Work diary to ensure accurate records of daily operations are logged and maintained for financial analysis, including actual routes, delivery times, and fuel usage.

Analyse route performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.

Build relationships with customers to ensure future business security.
- Provide support during emergencies or unexpected delays by rerouting vehicles as needed.
- Identify opportunities for integration and resource sharing with partner Silver X and action as appropriate.
- Take work from the Network to ensure maximum fleet utilisation and revenue is achieved.

What You'll Bring

Proven experience in logistics, transport planning, or a similar role.

Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of road networks.

Proficiency in route planning software

Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance standards.

Familiarity with telematics and GPS tracking systems.
