Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s curiosity and independence.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in accordance with nursery policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's development and daily activities.
- Organise the daily schedule to ensure smooth operation of the nursery while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff or apprentices as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to childcare.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative independently.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental journey.

You will need a DBS and Paediatric First Aid qualification
