Key Responsibilities

Attend daily briefings and weekly function sheet meetings to stay informed of operations and events

Type and format recipes to a high professional standard

Update and maintain accurate booking numbers and kitchen planning data
-
Assist with dish costings and the creation/updating of dish specifications
-
Prepare and print custom transfer sheets for decorative work
-
Upload, manage, and close rotas using internal systems
-
Place and track food orders, liaising with suppliers and internal teams
-
Maintain and update cleaning checklists and hygiene records
-
Ensure all relevant kitchen information is current, accessible, and clearly communicated

E-mail communications within the company on behalf of the Pastry Team

Assist in organising training schedules and tracking progress for apprentices or junior chefs

Create and maintain onboarding packs and training documentation for new pastry staff

Assistance with Monthly Food Stock Takes

Help coordinate collaborative events with other departments (e.g. marketing, events team)
-
Work with chefs to improve ingredient tracking and reduce waste through better ordering/stock rotation records
-
Manage visual libraries of finished dishes for presentation consistency
-
Coordinate initiatives to celebrate team achievements (e.g. staff birthdays, milestones, team photos)

Maintain a team noticeboard or digital update sheet to share successes, updates, or upcoming events

Manage internal communications via email on behalf of the Pastry Team, acting as a key liaison with other departments to ensure accurate and timely information sharing.
Key Skills, Qualities & Experience

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines

Proficient with Microsoft Office and kitchen management systems (training provided where needed)

Experience in hospitality or kitchen operations is desirable but not essential

A proactive and adaptable team player who enjoys supporting a dynamic team

Eager to take initiative and work closely with the team to evolve this new role into a vital support function."
