Part-Time Pub Duty ManagerGuaranteed Hours, Set Weekly Rota and Genuine Responsibility
The Dun Cow, Hornton, Oxfordshire
£14 per hour
Minimum 15 hours guaranteed every week, with opportunities for up to 25 hours
Permanent, part-time position
Start during August 2026 — no later than 20 August
The Dun Cow is looking for an experienced, confident and dependable person to become our new Part-Time Pub Duty Manager.
This is a genuinely responsible role for someone who enjoys running a pub, knows how to look after customers and can be trusted to take ownership of a shift.
It offers something increasingly difficult to find in hospitality: guaranteed weekly hours, a regular and predictable rota, real independence and the chance to make a visible difference — without the pressure of managing a team.
You will work closely with the owner but will sometimes run the pub independently. You will be trusted to open or close, serve customers, handle payments, maintain standards and make sensible decisions when required.
Alongside the bar work, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the pub’s events, marketing, stock control and future development.
Regular working pattern
The core working days are:
- Wednesday: 6.00pm until close
- Friday: 4.00pm until close
- Saturday: 4.00pm until close
- Sunday: 4.00pm until close
There may also be occasional optional Thursday shifts when the pub is hosting an event.
Sunday hours may change during the autumn months in response to seasonal trading, but any changes will be discussed and agreed in advance.
The successful applicant will receive a guaranteed minimum of 15 paid hours every week, with opportunities to work up to approximately 20 hours depending on events, seasonal demand and mutual availability.
This makes the role particularly suitable for someone looking for reliable part-time income alongside another job, family responsibilities, study, self-employment or other commitments.
What we offer
- £14 per hour

This is not a corporate hospitality role. You will not be one of many managers following instructions from a head office.
