Buck’s Bar St Andrews is looking for an experienced Sous Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our newest venue.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and is ready to take the next step within a growing independent hospitality group.
The Role
Working closely with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager, you’ll help lead the kitchen team and support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and motivating the kitchen team during busy services
- Preparing and cooking food to Buck’s Bar standards
- Helping oversee daily kitchen operations
- Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and service times
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures are consistently followed
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and fully prepared for service
- Supporting stock control, deliveries and waste reduction
- Assisting with takeaway and delivery operations
- Leading by example and supporting the team wherever needed
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef, Kitchen Supervisor or similar
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen
- A strong work ethic and hands-on leadership style
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Reliable, organised and calm under pressure
- A positive, team-focused attitude
- Takeaway or delivery experience would be beneficial
