Loveguard is an Ofsted-Registered Supported Accommodation provider, supporting 3 lovely Young People aged 16–18 as they develop independence and prepare for adulthood. Our approach is relational, trauma-informed and strengths-based, with the safety, wellbeing, views and aspirations of each Young Person at the center of our work. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support, guidance, and mentorship to help individuals develop their skills, confidence, and independence. Your energy and enthusiasm will create a positive environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and well-being of young people while developing your own skills in mentoring, teaching, and child development.
Duties
- Build trusting relationships with children by providing consistent support, encouragement, and mentorship.
- · Support our Young People with everyday life skills including cooking, budgeting, shopping, appointments and household routines.
- Support education, employment, training, health, positive relationships and community involvement.
- Deliver key sessions and meaningful conversations around wellbeing, safety, independence and decision-making.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, including exploitation, missing episodes, substance misuse and unsafe relationships.
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and multi-agency working.
- Work positively with social workers, personal advisers, health professionals, education providers and other agencies.
- Attend handovers, team meetings, supervision and training and contribute to a safe, homely environment.
Experience
- Experience supporting Children, Young People or Adults in a Care, Support, Education, Health, Housing or similar setting.
- Good communication, recording and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- An understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and risk management.
- The ability to recognise concerns, seek guidance and escalate risk appropriately.
- A commitment to equality, dignity, Young People's rights and promoting independence.
- A willingness to undertake training, supervision and reflective practice.
Experience of supporting Care Leavers supported accommodation, exploitation, trauma, substance misuse, missing episodes or complex safeguarding is desirable but not essential.

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
