As a Customs Clearance Assistant you will play an important role in the Company ensuring our new customs clearance hub for import and export airfreight, as well as export/import trailers, runs smoothly and as efficiently as possible.
You will be expected to accurately manage your own workload of a large number of customs clearance entries throughout each shift as well as assist the Customs Clearance Coordinator where necessary. The ability to process and clear a large number of consignments will be essential in this fast-paced environment.
This is an exciting role within the Company and requires an enthusiastic candidate, happy to work as part of a team with an appetite to learn new skills.
The position reports to the Customs Clearance Manager, and although is initially for maternity cover, we fully expect it to become a permanent role as we take on more business later in the year.
The role is weekends - Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday - 6am - 6pm 33 Hours a week.

Responsibilities
Ensure all customs clearance declarations are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all consignments are customs cleared in a timely manner.
Working to the prescribed Service Level Agreement with the Client.
Resolve any Customs issues.
Liaise with the Warehouse Teams / HMRC should inspections be required.
Experience, Skills
Previous Customs Clearance experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Able to work as part of a team.
Personal Interactions
Accuracy and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing at all levels.
Pay: £26,500.00 per year
