About Us
The De Beauvoir Deli Co. is a well-established independent food business straddling the border of Hackney and Islington, operating a neighbourhood deli, café, production kitchen, corporate catering service, online shop and evening bar. We're looking for a highly organised Business & Operations Administrator to help keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure, organisation and attention to detail to a busy, fast-moving environment. You'll work closely with the Director, Head Chef, General Manager, Cafe Manager and Corporate Food Services Manager, taking ownership of many of the administrative systems that underpin the business.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the onboarding process for all new employees, ensuring documentation and inductions are completed.
- Scheduling planned maintenance and servicing of company equipment and assets.
- Monitoring operational checklists to ensure they are completed consistently.
- Managing fire safety administration, records and routine compliance tasks.
- Supporting Health & Safety administration and maintaining compliance documentation.
- Overseeing HACCP documentation and ensuring food safety records remain accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with the kitchen team to build recipes within our inventory and EPOS systems, ensuring ingredients, recipes and allergen information are accurately maintained.
- Producing and monitoring key business KPIs and management reports, particularly kitchen GP and labour
- Managing packaging stock ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Managing label stock and placing replenishment orders.
- Providing annual leave cover for our Corporate Catering & Hampers Manager.
- Identifying opportunities to improve administrative systems and business processes.
About You
You'll be someone who:
- Is exceptionally organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Enjoys creating efficient systems and processes.
- Is confident using spreadsheets and learning new software.
- Can manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the detail.
- Is analytical and comfortable working with data and reports.
- Communicates confidently with people across different departments.
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion.
- Is proactive, reliable and enjoys solving problems.
Previous experience in administration, operations, office management or business support would be advantageous. Experience within hospitality, retail or food production would be beneficial but is not essential.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Right to work in the UK.

Pay: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
