About the Role

As the operational heartbeat of our business, you will bridge the gap between financial management and project delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a solid bookkeeping background who enjoys being customer-facing, keeping project schedules moving, and ensuring the office runs smoothly.
Initially, being the 'customer champion' will be a larger part of the role as you provide maternity cover, but the position will develop for you to have oversight of the Accounts alongside the customr interaction.

Key Responsibilities
The numbers bit:
- Manage supplier invoices (AP) and issue customer invoices for deposits and completed work (AR).
- Maintain weekly bank reconciliations and manage gentle debt collection processes.
- Assist with—and progressively take ownership of—VAT returns, payroll, stock management, and month-end reports.
- Work directly with the Managing Director on routine financial updates and sales reporting.
The people bit:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries, routing sales or support calls promptly.
- Champion the customer journey from initial enquiry through to post-installation follow-up.
- Collaborate with our sales and operations team to coordinate installation schedules and keep project deadlines on track.
- Prepare job paperwork and Health & Safety documentation (supported by lead project engineers).
- Maintain accurate customer records and fully utilise customer management and accounting software.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven practical experience in a bookkeeping or finance administration role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high numerical accuracy.
- A positive, proactive attitude with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good software confidence and organisational skills to manage office diaries and admin.
