Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on residential and commercial properties
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to support construction activities
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal sheets, or insulation materials
- Support fabrication and carpentry tasks related to roofing projects
- Assist with masonry, plumbing, or other related construction duties as required
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures at all times
Skills
- Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings is desirable
- Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing or roofing is advantageous but not mandatory
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to construction work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to work at heights and carry out manual tasks for extended periods
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various construction environments
