Mechanical Engineer
Our industry leading client who is at the forefront of water treatment projects are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with water experience to support the successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects across the water and wastewater sector. In this role, you’ll provide essential technical expertise, coordinate engineering activities, and ensure project requirements are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You’ll take ownership of engineering documentation, support design development, collaborate with clients and suppliers, and work closely with installation and site teams to keep projects moving smoothly from planning through to commissioning and handover.

Experience & Knowledge
- Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years’ experience in the water industry.
- Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or civil engineering systems.
- Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes, pumping systems, pipelines, and WIMES/client standards.
- Familiarity with construction, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong coordination abilities across design, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Understanding of project planning, risk management, and contract administration.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork approach.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven engineering experience in water, utilities, or heavy engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project documentation systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
