We train and support all our staff to complete the Care Certificate and the NHSE Statutory & Mandatory curriculum, with role‑appropriate Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training (OMMT) for learning disability & autism awareness.

The role (what you’ll do)
- Provide dignified, person‑centred personal care in people’s homes (adults 18+): washing, dressing, continence support, safe mobility/ transfers, nutrition & hydration, and routine household prompts.
- Medication support using a define care plan (prompt/ assist/ admin), following prescriber directions, PRN protocols and time‑critical safeguards; record events accurately using our applications (we train & observe you before sign‑off).
- Communicate clearly and accessibly using predefined policies in line with the Accessible Information Standard (AIS).
- Escalate safeguarding concerns promptly and uphold Duty of Candour behaviours (be open, apologise and escalate to the manager for statutory notifications when required).
- Use our secure mobile platform for visit notes, MAR entries, risk/ incident reporting and rota updates (training provided).
- Work closely with our Medical Director and Senior Carers through skills sessions, scenario‑based learning and observed practice so you are adequately trained before working unsupervised on safety‑critical tasks.

Essential

- Occupational health/ fitness to work screening.
Desirable
- Community/home‑care, hospital or care‑home experience.
- Experience in supporting people living with dementia, eating disorders, mental health, physical disability, sensory impairment.
Training & progression (we invest in you)
- Care Certificate - all 16 standards for every staff member, including non‑care roles. You must complete the learning & practice for all 16 standards before working unsupervised. (Formal certificate sign‑off can follow quickly afterwards.)
- Statutory & Mandatory training on using national standards (Data Security, Equality & Diversity, Fire, H&S, IPC L1–L2, Moving & Handling L1–L2, Resus L1–L2, Prevent, Safeguarding Adults/Children), aligned to national standards; ESR‑reportable where enabled.
- OMMT (LD&A) at the appropriate tier.
- Observed competencies (e.g., three medicines observations before independent administration; annual re‑checks or sooner after incidents).
- Mentoring from our Health Informatics specialists to deliver excellent care using digital platforms.
- Career pathway: Personal Carer → Senior/Team Lead → Deputy Manager → Registered Manager. As we expand, we will fund Level 5 Leadership & Management for high performers who are ready to run future locations.
Pay, hours & benefits (indicative)
- Competitive hourly rate (DOE) + paid induction, uniform/PPE, and paid mileage if driving.

Your working environment
- Community‑based across Islington & nearby. Visits typically 30–60–120 minutes.
- We plan rotas fairly and communicate changes early.
