JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Currently based in Stonehouse, the Company has grown over the past 10 years and will be moving to a larger and improved production facility in Gloucester in November 2026.
The Junior Project Engineer (Mechanical/E&I) will support the successful delivery of custom-built API 619 compressor packages to industry clients working under the guidance of experienced Project Engineers and the Projects Manager.
For this role, candidates will need to have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or demonstrable industry experience in a relevant engineering role.
Candidates will have relevant experience of working in a manufacturing or project environment along with an understanding of project engineering principles and project lifecycle activities.
You will have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, including P&IDs and General Arrangement drawings.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
· Assist Project Engineers with the delivery of custom-built compressor package projects from order receipt through to final completion.
· Support project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring to ensure key project milestones are achieved.
· Prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, action trackers, meeting minutes and progress reports.
· Liaise with internal departments including Engineering, Production, Procurement, Quality and QHSE to support project execution.
· Assist with reviewing customer specifications and ensuring engineering documentation complies with project requirements.
· Support the coordination of engineering deliverables including General Arrangement drawings, P&IDs, datasheets and document submissions.
· Raise purchase requisitions and assist with the procurement of mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation components.
· Monitor supplier deliveries and follow up outstanding materials to support production schedules.
· Participate in internal and customer progress meetings and record actions.
· Assist with resolving technical and commercial issues by working alongside senior engineers and relevant departments.
· Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), package inspections and customer witness testing activities.
· Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is issued in accordance with company procedures.
· Develop an understanding of API 619 compressor packages, applicable engineering standards and project management processes.
