Job Summary
County Care Support is recruiting a team of compassionate and committed Support Workers to support a 38-year-old autistic gentleman who lives independently in his own home in Holbeach.
He is a friendly, sociable and likeable young man with a great sense of humour. He enjoys spending time on his favourite interests, including churches and church bells, aviation, and completing jigsaw puzzles, where he has an exceptional talent and attention to detail.

As his Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support in line with his individual support plan, ensuring his needs, preferences and routines are always respected.
As with many autistic people, there are certain situations and environmental factors that can cause anxiety and may lead to behaviours of concern. We are therefore looking for people who have a good understanding of autism, are patient, calm and consistent in their approach, and can recognise early signs of distress while responding in a positive and supportive way.
The role includes a mixture of day shifts, evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts, so flexibility is essential. Sleep in rate £90 per shift

Duties
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support in line with the individual's care and support plan.
- Support the individual to maintain their independence within their own home.
- Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship through consistent and meaningful support.
- Encourage participation in activities that reflect the individual's interests, including jigsaw puzzles, aviation, churches and church bells, while exploring opportunities to develop new experiences at a pace that is comfortable for him.
- Support with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, household duties, personal care (where required) and maintaining a safe, clean home environment.
- Promote the individual's choice, dignity, privacy and rights at all times.
- Recognise early signs of anxiety or distress and respond calmly using agreed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and guidance within the support plan.
- Follow risk assessments, behaviour support plans and all company policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective support.
- Accurately complete daily records, incident reports and other documentation using the company's recording systems.
- Administer medication safely (following successful training and competency assessments).
- Work closely with family members, managers and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Communicate effectively during handovers and contribute positively to team meetings.
- Participate in training, supervision and continuous professional development.
- Be flexible to work a rota that includes days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts.
- Always safeguard the wellbeing, health and safety of the individual and report any concerns promptly in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Deliver personalized care and support tailored to each individual's needs, including assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration

- Good written and verbal communication skills to complete care records accurately.
- Flexibility to work a rota that includes days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts.
- A commitment to promoting dignity, choice, independence and inclusion.
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
Desirable
- Previous experience working with autistic adults or individuals with learning disabilities.
- Experience supporting people who display behaviours of concern or behaviours that challenge.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
- Knowledge of person-centred care, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Experience administering medication (training will be provided).
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
