Sean has an unsafe swallow so is peg fed with all of his nutrition and medicines given via his peg. At night Sean uses a BIPAP machine to help with his obstructive airway due to having sleep apnoea.
Job description
Sean has recently left school and we would love him to continue some education at home so his routine is kept similar.
Each day a time table will be followed so Sean has lots of interaction from his PAs.
This will include Sean having daily light stimulation in his sensory room which he loves.
Sean will go into his spa pool twice per week supported by PAs.
Sean loves sitting on the end of his bed supported by an adult who will engage with him and encourage Sean to lift his head up and then encourage him to use his voice to ask for “more”
Sean loves a good facial and a hand and foot massage which will be done by PAs.
Sean will enjoy tacpac, story telling & watching movies on his I Pad.
Sean will enjoy days out doing activities such as visiting the Alan Shearer Centre, going ice skating or going to the cinemas.
He also enjoys the Blue Reef Aquarium and having walks down the beach so driving is essential.
Alongside these fun things which Sean enjoys, Seans personal care will be undertaken by PAs too.
These will include giving Sean medicines and his feed via his peg, hoisting Sean, changing Seans pad, emptying Seans stoma, intermittently catheterise Sean and doing Seans Physiotherapy.
We have an extension to our property with Seans therapy rooms, bedroom & wet room so this is where most of Seans tasks will be done.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people that can make an impact on Seans life and give him the best love and care with lots of activities.
We want people who are confident and fun with lots of smiles and laughter and have a positive attitude around Sean.
We are looking for people who are clean and tidy and confident in water.
Our hope is to have people come into our lives and become like family to us and for them to treat Sean like their own.
Healthcare experience and working with children with complex needs is preferred.
Nursing experience is an advantage.
Driving is essential so Sean can access outside activities and for people to be confident driving Seans wheelchair access van.
