Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality care to clients within their own homes. The role involves supporting individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. Experience in care home settings or home care environments is preferred, along with the ability to follow care plans meticulously. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed care plans
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding if necessary
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assisting with light domestic chores to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Documenting care provided accurately using IT systems or paper records
- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Following individualised care plans to meet specific needs and preferences
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good understanding of person centred care plans and ability to implement them effectively
- Proficiency in IT systems for documentation purposes is advantageous
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is mandatory to facilitate travel between client locations
