Sales Manager
Oculus Housing Group (OHG)
Location: Liverpool, UK
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Director of Group Operations
About OHG
Oculus Housing Group is a growing group of home-improvement and energy businesses, delivering high-quality installation services across EV charging, heating, electrical, and renewable energy. As the group expands its service offering, we're looking for a driven Sales Manager to build and lead a high-performing sales team across our core installation services.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Sales Manager to take ownership of OHG's sales function, initially focused on EV charger installations, boiler installations, and renewable energy installations, with scope to expand into additional product and service lines as the group grows. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll manage and develop a sales team, drive revenue across multiple installation verticals, and help shape the sales strategy and processes as OHG scales.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build something — shaping team structure, sales processes, and go-to-market approach for new services as they're introduced.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, manage, and motivate a team of sales representatives/advisors
- Set individual and team sales targets, and monitor performance against KPIs
- Provide coaching, call reviews, and ongoing development to improve conversion rates
- Foster a high-performance, target-driven sales culture
Sales Delivery
- Lead and drive sales performance across EV charger installations, boiler installations, and renewable energy installations (e.g., solar PV, air source heat pumps)
- Manage the sales pipeline end-to-end, from lead handling through to close, ensuring strong conversion and customer experience
- Ensure leads generated via marketing campaigns, referrals, and partnerships are followed up promptly and effectively
- Personally handle key accounts, larger opportunities, or escalations where needed
Strategy & Growth
- Work closely with marketing and operations to align sales activity with lead generation campaigns
- Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, scripts, pricing presentation, and close rates
- Support the introduction of new product/service lines as OHG's offering expands, developing sales approaches for each new area
- Feed customer and market insight back into the business to inform product and marketing decisions
Reporting & Systems
- Maintain accurate CRM records covering pipeline stages, conversion rates, and forecasting
- Report regularly on sales performance, pipeline health, and team KPIs to senior management
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations across all installation verticals sold (e.g., MCS, OZEV/EV grant schemes)
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a sales management or senior sales role, ideally within home improvement, renewables, energy, or a related installation-based industry
- Track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets, both personally and through a team
- Experience managing, coaching, and developing a sales team
- Strong understanding of consultative/solution-based selling (quote-to-close, objection handling, closing techniques)
- Comfortable working across multiple product lines and adapting sales approach accordingly
- Confident using CRM systems to manage pipeline and reporting (monday.com experience a plus)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-growing, evolving business
Desirable
- Existing knowledge of EV charging, heating/boiler, or renewable energy installation sales
- Experience scaling a sales team or function from the ground up
- Familiarity with lead-generation channels (Meta/Google ads) and working with marketing teams on lead quality
What We Offer
- Performance-based bonuses available in addition to salary
- Clear progression path as the sales team and product range grow
- Genuine input into shaping the sales strategy and team as the business scales
Pay: From £34,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company events
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
