Ironworks Operative & HGV/Class 2 Driver
Lightways (Contractors) Limited is a family run business with over 40 years of experience in streetlighting, surfacing, and reinstatement. Our reinstatement division specialises in delivering a surfacing and reinstatement service to local authorities, public utilities, and public utility contractors.
Our company has extensive experience in surfacing and reinstatement of carriageways and footways of all surface types including asphalt, bitmac, slabs, block paving, setts, and granolithic concrete. All construction works are carried out by our own staff – a valuable, trained, and qualified resource – and we would like you to join our team.
To meet the demands of our customers, we have a requirement to recruit experienced Ironworks Operatives.
Experience in replacing ironworks and a full, clean driving licence are essential requirements for this post.
The post is based from our Head Office in Larbert, though works will be undertaken at sites across Scotland.
The working hours for this role will be nine hours per day, Monday to Friday inclusive. There is opportunity to work overtime, including weekends and nights, as required.
The hourly rate for this post is within the range of £14-17 per hour, dependent on experience.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in replacing ironworks (essential)
- Full, clean Driving Licence (essential)
- Streetworks ticket (essential)
- Understanding of health and safety requirements (essential)
- Experience of this or a similar industry (essential)
- HGV or Class 2 Licence (desirable)
- Mini-excavator ticket (desirable)
- CSCS card (desirable)
- Traffic management experience (desirable)
- At least one year of driving experience
- Self-motivated individual
- Positive attitude towards work
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
