Goods Inbound Operative
This is a fixed term contract but, for the right person this could lead to a Full Time position.
We are a leading national distributor of branded plumbing and heating system parts who operate from one of our National Distribution Centres in Birmingham. We hold over 10,000 products in a 100,000sq ft warehouse with a vast range of products covering everything from brass foundry, tube fittings, taps & mixers, accessories and a huge range of related installation materials for plumbing and heating merchants. We offer a next day delivery service for our customers.
The Role;
Supporting all sections in line with daily business needs over our peak period;
- Current MHE licences (Reach Truck, VNA & Counterbalance) - Preferable
- All Warehouse functions (including but not limited to, unloading, checking, receipting, putting away, replenishments, picking, packing & loading of goods)
- Report any discrepancies
- Follow quality service standards & comply with company procedures & policies
- Warehouse maintenance - Ensuring the smooth receipt and accurate and timely location of all goods
- Supporting in maintaining a presentable work area “Clean as you go”
The Candidate
- Possess a good attitude to work
- Show attention to detail
- Conscious of time and attendance
- Proven working experience as a goods inbound operative
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices & methods
- Good organisational & time management skills
Hours
- 06:00 - 14:00 (plus potential overtime)
- No weekends - Monday to Friday only
Pay & Benefits
- £27,200 per year
- Overtime is paid at time and a half
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (worked out pro-rata)
