Hours:
- 1 x 8 hours per week
- 1 x 10 hours per week
Working pattern to be agreed. The roles will primarily involve evening work, with occasional weekends and additional hours to meet the needs of the service. This role includes detached work and on site delivery
Contract: Fixed-term for 1 year (subject to continued project funding).
Location: Based at our youth provision, with occasional community-based activities as required.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and committed Youth Workers to join our growing team and help deliver high-quality youth work for children and young people.
As a Youth Worker, you will play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can develop confidence, build positive relationships and access opportunities that improve their wellbeing and future aspirations.
Working alongside our Session Supervisors and wider youth work team, you will plan and deliver engaging activities, provide one-to-one support whereappropriate and encourage young people to participatein shaping the services they receive.

Key ResponsibilitiesYouth Work Delivery
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality youth work sessions.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children and young people.
- Encourage participation, inclusion and youth voice.
- Support young people to develop confidence, resilience, independence and positive life skills.
- Promote equality, diversity and respect within all activities.
- Support young people to access additional services where appropriate.
Safeguarding
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Recognise, respond to and report safeguardingconcerns in accordance with organisational policiesand procedures.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Promote a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Session Support
- Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of youth activities.
- Set up and clear away equipment and resources.
- Support the supervision of young people throughout sessions.
- Encourage positive behaviour using restorative andsupportive approaches.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to ensure sessions run smoothly.
Administration
- Complete registers and attendance records accurately.
- Maintain appropriate session records and monitoringinformation.
- Complete accident, incident and safeguarding records as required.
- Contribute to evaluation and outcome monitoring.
Partnership Working
- Develop positive relationships with parents, carersand partner organisations where appropriate.
- Represent the organisation professionally within thelocal community.
- Support community events and outreach activitieswhen required.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Experience of working with children and young people in a youth work, education, sports, community or similar setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and childprotection responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised and flexible approach to work.
- Willingness to work regular evening shifts.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Youth Work qualification (orwillingness to work towards one).
- Experience of planning and delivering activities for young people.
- First Aid qualification.
- Mental Health First Aid qualification.
- Experience of working with young people who may be vulnerable or facing additional challenges.
