Poppadom & Pints is a vibrant and popular Indian street food/modern curry house] restaurant, famous for its delicious food, and buzzing atmosphere. We are looking for an energetic, reliable, and hardworking Kitchen Porter to be the backbone of our kitchen operations. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Porter, you are essential to the smooth running of our kitchen. Your main duties will include:
- Washing Up: Operating the dishwasher and washing pots, pans, and utensils by hand efficiently and quickly.
- Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including floors, walls, surfaces, and kitchen equipment.
- Supporting the Chefs: Assisting the kitchen team with basic food prep (e.g., peeling vegetables) and ensuring they have the clean tools and equipment they need.
- Rubbish & Recycling: Managing waste, including clearing bins and maintaining the refuse area.
- Stock & Deliveries: Assisting with the organisation of deliveries, stock rotation, and putting goods away in storage areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all washing-up machinery is clean and maintained correctly.
What We're Looking For
- Hard Worker: A strong work ethic and the ability to handle physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items (e.g., crates, large pot stacks).
- Reliable & Punctual: Someone who shows up on time and is committed to their shifts.
- Team Player: Ability to take direction and work well within a dynamic, diverse team.
- Organized: A good eye for detail and the ability to maintain a systematic and efficient washing area.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is a bonus, but not essential—we are happy to train the right candidate!
