Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Stonemasons assistant/trainee to join our team of experienced stonemasons. In this role, you will provide essential support to skilled stonemasons. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help during various masonry projects (historic buildings and sites). This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while contributing to high-quality stonework and masonry installations. You will be given in house training, working alongside our experienced stonemasons.
Duties will include:
- Assisting stonemasons with day to day work
- Preparing and moving stone, materials and tools
- Keeping the work area clean and organised
- Helping with cutting, dressing and laying stone
- Following health & safety procedures
- Carrying out general labouring duties as required
The Ideal Candidate:
- Is hard working, reliable and punctual
- Has a good attitude and is willing to learn
- Is physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Can work well as part of a team
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Has a full driving licence (preferred but not essential)
- Previous construction or stonemasonry experience is an advantage (not essential)
