This is a role for a recruiter who's ready to step up, or a recruitment leader looking for work with genuine purpose. As our Senior Apprenticeship Recruiter, you'll lead our apprenticeship recruitment function end to end.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll line manage a team of Apprenticeship Recruiters and Careers Advisors and take full accountability for their KPIs, outbound activity, vacancy generation, placements and apprenticeship starts. Alongside that, you'll run your own caseload of higher-value, strategic employer accounts where multiple vacancies are live at any one time, so you'll never be far from the buzz of a placement.
While this role offers remote working, you'll be expected to travel regularly to company meetings, team events, and other in-person activities to collaborate with colleagues, stay connected with the wider organisation and contribute to our shared success.
What you'll be doing:
- Line managing the Apprenticeship Recruiter and Careers Advisor team, daily activity, workload planning and the smooth running of the function
- Driving performance through regular 1-2-1s, coaching, objective setting and performance management, celebrating success and tackling underperformance
- Owning team KPIs and targets, monitoring against plan and taking corrective action where needed
- Leading induction, onboarding and development, sharing best practice in outbound sales, vacancy generation and CEIAG
- Managing your own caseload of strategic, high-value accounts as senior point of contact, negotiating vacancy requirements, prioritising candidate resource and cross-selling across Dental, Early Years and Care
- Leading by example on outbound activity: calls, emails, social selling and speccing standout candidates to employers
- Overseeing the team's referral partnerships with agencies, Jobcentre Plus, the National Careers Service, schools and colleges, the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and the Careers & Enterprise Company
- Analysing pipeline, conversion and activity data to find performance gaps, and fixing them
- Running internal checks on recruitment records for compliance assurance, and producing management reports and forecasts for the Commercial Director
What we're looking for:
- A proven recruitment track record, ideally in a sales-driven, target-oriented environment
- Experience line managing, supervising or leading a recruitment, sales or careers advice team
- Experience of performance management, 1-2-1s and coaching, and of owning and delivering team KPIs
- Experience managing strategic, high-value client accounts with multiple concurrent vacancies
- Confidence producing management reports and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable reading pipeline and conversion data and acting on it
- A leader who role-models the company values, leads by example, and is motivated by results, with the resilience to match
If you can inspire a team and still love the buzz of making a placement yourself, this one's for you.
