Wanted Herdsperson for our 350 cow, all year round calving, Holstein herd. We milk twice a day through a 30/30 parlour. Our cows are grazed and buffer fed during the summer but are housed and TMR fed in the winter. We raise all our own heifer replacements and also have a sheep/beef enterprise.
We are looking for someone with milking experience and understanding of dairy hygiene, herd health, calving, heat detection, foot care and some record-keeping. Knowledge of TMR feeding, ability to AI and foot trim would be highly advantageous but training can be given. You will be working 5.5days a week and in a team of four with good holiday entitlement.
