Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HGV Mechanic & Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and related equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of HGVs, including engines, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and bodywork to identify issues early.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as replacing worn parts and electrical troubleshooting.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose mechanical or electrical faults accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to carry out repairs and assembly tasks efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including service logs and repair reports for compliance purposes.
- Support safety protocols by adhering to health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with team members and clients regarding repair status or technical issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an HGV mechanic or fitter with a strong understanding of heavy vehicle systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle components such as engines, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical wiring.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance machinery.
- Experience with equipment repair including forklifts and excavators is desirable but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
Pay: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
