Do you have A-Level Chemistry and a hands-on, practical mindset? We're looking for a Laboratory Assistant to work in our laboratory on our production site in Skelmersdale - and we're open to training the right person.
The Company
We mix and down-pack home and garden herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers for customers who depend on consistent quality. The laboratory sits at the centre of that - and this new role will be a key part of the team that makes it happen.
The Role
Working alongside our Laboratory Manager, you'll carry out day-to-day testing and analysis, collect samples from the production floor and help keep the laboratory running smoothly. Full training is provided - what matters most is that you're detail-oriented, reliable and keen to learn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing herbicides and pesticides for active ingredient content (HPLC technology - training provided)
- Preparing and testing fertiliser samples for nutrient content
- Collecting samples from around the site’s production lines
- Recording and reporting results accurately
- Keeping the sample retention station organised and up to date
What we're looking for
- A-Level Chemistry (essential)
- Good attention to detail and care with record-keeping
- Comfortable in a hands-on, practical environment
- A team player - approachable, reliable, willing to get stuck in
- Some laboratory and/or production experience is a bonus, but not required
Hours: Mon – Fri (37 hrs/week)
Salary: Pay range shown is based on Living Wage age band rates, and may be negotiable depending on experience.
