Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met with kindness and respect
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits, fostering independence and confidence
- Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized care plans in collaboration with colleagues, families, and other professionals
- Support clients during outings or appointments by providing transportation assistance, including driving when qualified and necessary
- Use effective communication skills to engage with clients, understanding their preferences and advocating for their needs
- Maintain accurate records of support sessions, progress notes, and incident reports using IT systems designed for care documentation
- Promote a positive environment that encourages social interaction, learning opportunities, and personal growth
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is desirable
- Valid driving license and experience driving as part of your support duties is preferred, nut not vital
- Strong communication skills are essential for building trusting relationships with clients and team members
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting is beneficial
- A caring attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm will help you succeed in this role
