Role
Goods Inwards Storeman is responsible for receiving, inspecting, recording, and storing incoming goods and materials to ensure they meet company quality and quantity requirements. The role is essential in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available for production or distribution.
Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries from suppliers and verify goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, quality, and accuracy of quantity.
- Report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items to the relevant department or supplier.
- Accurately record all incoming goods or services the IT systems
- Label, store, and organise materials in designated storage locations
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet trucks, safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain stock accuracy through regular checks and inventory counts
- Ensure the warehouse and storage areas are clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and move materials for internal departments as required.
- Follow company procedures for stock rotation and safe storage of materials.
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and logistics teams to ensure efficient material flow.
Skills and Attributes
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or goods inwards environment.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and use inventory management systems.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
- Forklift license.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures within a warehouse environment.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
