We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and experienced School Cleaning Supervisor to lead and coordinate the cleaning team within a school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety across the school premises, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, visitors, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning operations across the school premises.
- Allocate cleaning duties and responsibilities to cleaning staff, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the required standards.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, productivity, and completion of assigned duties.
- Carry out regular inspections of classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, communal areas, and other school facilities.
- Ensure cleaning standards meet school requirements and relevant health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to cleaning staff, including new employees.
- Ensure cleaning products, materials, machinery, and equipment are used safely and correctly.
- Monitor stock levels and arrange replenishment of cleaning supplies and equipment when required.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, damage, or other concerns promptly to school management or the appropriate contact.
- Respond professionally and promptly to cleaning-related requests from school staff and management.
- Maintain appropriate cleaning records, checklists, inspection reports, and staff documentation.
- Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and school-specific procedures are followed at all times.
- Support the cleaning team during busy periods and assist with cleaning duties when required.
- Help maintain a safe, hygienic, and positive environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial, school, educational, or facilities cleaning.
- Previous experience as a Cleaning Supervisor, Team Leader, or in a similar supervisory position is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of professional cleaning methods, hygiene standards, and safe working practices.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements within a school or public environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage daily cleaning schedules.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a cleaning team.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently while supporting the wider school team.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining consistently high standards.
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry cleaning equipment and supplies as required.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, or occasional weekends where required.
- A professional attitude towards safeguarding, confidentiality, and working in an environment with children.
