ABOUT COMPUTERXPLORERS
ComputerXplorers delivers fun, structured coding and technology clubs for primary-aged children. We’re looking for friendly, reliable After School Club Leaders to run sessions in local primary schools.
This role suits someone available on weekday afternoons who wants a small, consistent commitment around school hours (e.g., parents returning to work, students, or part-time workers).
Not suitable if you can’t commit to a 3:15–3:30pm start time in term time
EXPECTED HOURS
2–3 hours per week (term time), based on 1–2 sessions per week.
SHIFT / SCHEDULE (PLEASE READ)
- Term time only (with optional extra sessions where available).
- Most leaders deliver 1–2 sessions per week (days agreed in advance).
- After-school clubs start at school finish time (typically 3:15–3:30pm) and run for 1 hour.
- You must arrive 15 minutes before the start and stay 15 minutes after for set-up, handover to parents and tidy-up.
- Total on-site time per session: 90 minutes (typically approx 3:00–4:30pm or 3:15–4:45pm depending on school finish).
LOCATION (MULTI-SITE)
This is not a single fixed workplace. Sessions take place in primary schools across Cheshire East & Newcastle-under-Lyme, so the ability to travel is important.
Current areas include:
- Crewe (CW2)
- Nantwich (CW5)
- Sandbach (CW11)
- Congleton (CW12)
- Middlewich (CW10)
- Alsager (ST7)
- Newcastle-under-Lyme (ST5)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Deliver engaging after-school coding/technology sessions using our provided lesson plans and resources.Set up and pack away equipment.Supervise children safely and manage behaviour positively.Communicate clearly with school staff and parents/guardians at collection.Represent ComputerXplorers professionally and reliably.
TRAINING / SUPPORT
- Full training provided.
- Lesson plans and all session equipment provided (no need to buy your own kit).
ABOUT YOU (ESSENTIAL)
- Enjoy working with children and can lead a group with confidence.
- Reliable and punctual (after-school start times are fixed).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (or already have one).
DESIRABLE
- Experience supervising children aged 4–11 (school, clubs, childcare, coaching, youth work, etc.).
- Interest in computing/technology/STEM activities.
- Driving licence and access to your own car (preferred due to multiple school sites).
