Your first twelve months will be focused on building theknowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed in this role. During thistime, you will:
- StartYour InterGen Journey start yourjourney with an onboarding experience designed to set you up for success fromday one. Youll discover what we do how our power stations keep the lights onand the economy moving, meet colleagues from across the business, and gain areal understanding of the culture and values that make InterGen unique.
- Power Your Knowledge at Powertica spend time with our sister companyPowertica, the energy trading arm of the business. Youll gain insight into theUK energy market, learn how the power thats generated by our power stations is traded and develop a practical understanding of trading principles and dispatchdecisions.
- Develop your Analysis & Modelling Skills well introduce you to financial modellingand help build your commercial analysis capabilities. Youll learn how toassess opportunities, compare options and support pricing decisions within capacitymarkets. As your confidence grows, youll begin presenting insights andrecommendations to stakeholders within the business.
- Learn,Grow and Build Your Expertise throughtailored training and real-life projects, youll start to develop your knowledgeof key commercial concepts like tendering processes, Gas Operating Margins andCapacity Market Registers. Well help you start to build your ability toanalyse information, make recommendations and navigate complex legal andcommercial documents. Along the way, well look at proven communication andthinking frameworks which will help you communicate recommendations withclarity and impact.
By your second year, youll have thecommercial confidence to step beyond learning and into ownership to make a biggerimpact across the business. Building on your first 12 months, you will take ongreater responsibility, manage commercial projects and agreements, influence businessdecisions through insight and analysis and confidently present to seniorstakeholders, all while deepening your market expertise and shaping the nextstep in your career.
This programme is designed to give you abroad exposure across the commercial world, helping you to build a uniquecombination of analytical, commercial market, business partnering, risk andregulatory skills. Whether you discover a passion for a particular specialismor enjoy working broadly across multiple disciplines, you will leave withvaluable experience and a clearer view of where youd like your career to gonext.
We welcome applications from graduates of all academic backgrounds, as well as those who have gained valuableexperience through alternative routes. While a basic level of numeracy ishelpful, you don't need a specific degree or prior industry experience to besuccessful in this role.
