Support Worker
Location: North Shields NE30
Hours: 8am - 8pm when the client is at home. The client will stay at his mothers for a minimum of 1-2 nights per week in which the day shift then changes to 9:45am - 4:15pm. Client will have 24 hour support a minimum of 5 days per week.
Shift Pattern:
Every Sunday waking night, alternate Saturday and Wednesday waking nights.
Pay & Benefits:
- £13.09 per hour Day shifts
- £14.13 for Bank Holiday shifts
- £25.88 per hour for Christmas Day & New Year’s Day shifts
- Sleeping night £91.08 flat rate

About the role
Support package of 2:1 working within the clients own home and out in the community.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate support workers to join our team supporting an adult male in his 30s to live an exciting and interesting life.
He really enjoys horse riding, swimming, cycling, walking, shopping, etc so you would need to be proactive and encourage this as well as introducing new activities.
The client has autism, epilepsy (no seizures for a number of years) and other learning disabilities so there is a well established routine and communication methods tailored to him. He is Non-verbal but does have his own way of communicating with his long standing team.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional care and support to an individual in their own home, follow person-centered care plans and promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Safely transport the client to appointments, activities, and outings using clients own vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
- Provide prompting and oversight of medication, observe food safety of the client preparing meals, support with household tasks, social support and other activities of daily living, tailored to individual needs.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and their families, showing empathy, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Collaborate with team members, healthcare professionals, and others to ensure coordinated care delivery and promptly report any changes or concerns.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including care records, incident reports, and other relevant paperwork.
- Taking part in MDT’s when required.

Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence (client’s vehicle will be used)
- Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts
- Must be willing to go on holiday with the client within the UK and plans of going abroad within the next 1-2 years.
- Previous experience with behaviours that challenge
- Must be proactive and encourage an active lifestyle for the client
It would be great if you also have:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
