Fabric Technician

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Fabric Technician with a background in painting, decorating, joinery, and general building fabric maintenance to support a major banking client based at Radbroke Campus.
This is a varied role that requires a hands-on individual capable of delivering both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a large commercial estate.
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the appearance, functionality, and longevity of buildings and facilities.
Working to high standards of safety, workmanship, and customer service, you will undertake a broad range of fabric maintenance tasks while ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality painting and decorating works across internal and external areas.
- Undertake planned and reactive building fabric maintenance activities.
- Carry out carpentry and joinery repairs to doors, frames, locks, furniture, partitions, and fixtures.
- Repair walls, ceilings, flooring systems, suspended ceiling tiles, and general building finishes.
- Complete minor plastering, patch repairs, silicone sealing, and other fabric maintenance tasks.
- Conduct building fabric inspections, identify defects, and implement practical repair solutions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CAFM systems and mobile devices.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures while delivering excellent customer service and supporting workplace improvement projects.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Fabric Technician, Handy Person, Painter & Decorator, Joiner, Carpenter, or Multi-Skilled Maintenance role.
- Experience working within commercial environments with the flexibility to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks.
- Strong knowledge of building fabric maintenance and repair techniques.
- Proven experience carrying out painting, decorating, joinery, and general building repairs.
- Ability to diagnose building defects and identify practical repair solutions.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good IT skills and confidence using CAFM systems, PDAs, and email to receive and update work orders.
- Comfortable working in a technology-driven environment where all work is managed through a PDA system.
- Full UK driving licence (if required for regional support - car or car allowance provided).
