Overview
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Warehouse Operative/Freight specialist, where your energy and precision will drive our logistics operations forward. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling, loading, unloading, and management of freight within our busy warehouse environment. Your mechanical aptitude and experience with warehouse systems will ensure smooth operations, supporting the timely delivery of materials and products. Responsibilities
- Load and unload shipments efficiently using appropriate materials handling equipment, including forklifts.
- Operate forklift trucks safely and effectively to move goods within the warehouse.
- Manage inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory, update stock levels, and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct mechanical inspections of equipment and materials to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Assist with warehouse organization, ensuring storage areas are tidy, accessible, and compliant with safety standards.
- Support construction-related tasks or heavy lifting as needed to facilitate project or operational requirements.
Experience
- Proven warehouse experience with a strong understanding of materials handling procedures.
- Valid forklift certification and demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is highly desirable to troubleshoot equipment or assist with assembly tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during shipping, receiving, or stock replenishment activities.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving roles that involved load & unload operations in fast-paced environments.
