Job Overview
Newton Property Management is seeking a Credit Control Manager to manage the Credit Control function within the business. This role will report to the Financial Controller and will be part of a small but efficient and effective team. Newton Property Management was founded in 2001 and has grown organically, and through acquisition, to become one of Scotland’s biggest and best Property Management business, looking after almost 50,000 properties across the country. This role will be based in our Glasgow office on Port Dundas Road. The role will be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage a team of experienced credit controllers to KPI’s and SLA’s
- Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure invoices are paid on time
- Implement effective debt collection strategies
- Work closely with the finance team to forecast cash flow
- Identify and implement improvements to the credit control process, including streamlining and automation of current processes
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional manner
- Prepare and present regular reports on credit control performance to senior management
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, procedures and processes
- Stay updated on credit control best practice
- Ability to reconcile complex accounts
- Liaising with 3rd parties such as legal advisors and debt collection agencies
- Raising & requesting Notice of Potential Liabilities (NOPL’s) on Registers of Scotland (ROS)
- Recording NOPL’s on the company CRM/billing system
- Calculating direct debit reviews and preparing the DD increase review letters
- Handling & follow up of the DD rejections
- Checking on landlord registration (LLR)/ROS if we are not provided with any form of contact details for new developments
Specific skills, capabilities & requirements:
- CICM desirable
- Experience in a fast paced high volume credit control environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
- Self discipline and motivation
- Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
- Strong IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Excel
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Ability to lead, motivate and get the best out of a team
- Proven track record of streamlining and automation of processes

Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
