Job Overview
FIFTH Movement is looking for an energetic, dedicated Boxing Coach to inspire primary school children through the sport of boxing. We work with local authority primary schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and holiday camps across the community, delivering Active Clubs and holiday programmes that build fitness, discipline and confidence in young people. This paid role is a great opportunity to lead engaging, well-structured sessions and help children discover a sport they'll love — while learning skills that last well beyond the ring.
Experience coaching primary school-aged children is preferred, and you'll be joining a team that puts the child's experience and progress at the centre of everything we do.
Duties
- Lead dynamic warm-ups, skill drills and (age-appropriate) sparring sessions that keep technique, safety and fun front and centre
- Teach fundamental boxing skills — stance, punches, footwork and defensive moves — with clear, simple instructions suited to primary-aged learners
- Track each child's progress, give constructive feedback, and celebrate their achievements to build confidence
- Ensure every session meets FIFTH Movement's safety standards and creates a positive, encouraging environment
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship and respect among participants in every session
- Carry out equipment safety checks and keep training gear organised before and after each session
Skills
- Proven coaching experience, ideally with primary school-aged children or in youth sports programmes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain clearly and motivate young learners
- Solid knowledge of boxing technique, safety protocols and basic first aid
- An enthusiastic, approachable manner that helps children feel confident joining in
- Good organisational skills — planning engaging sessions and keeping track of pupil progress
- Ability to strike the balance between fun and discipline, so every child feels able to take part and grow
