We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join our small, friendly warehouse team based in Stamford Bridge.
The Role
As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our customers receive their tile orders and samples accurately, safely and on time. You will be responsible for picking, packing and preparing orders ranging from individual samples through to larger, full customer and palletised orders. As our tiles are often handmade and delicate, careful handling and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
Working as part of a small team, you will need to be organised, reliable and able to communicate effectively with colleagues across the business. The role can be fast-paced, particularly during busy periods, so the ability to remain calm, focused and accurate under pressure is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and prepare tile orders and samples from warehouse stock.
- Pick, pack and dispatch tile samples, full customer orders and palletised orders.
- Carefully handle delicate, high-end and handmade tile products.
- Check orders thoroughly to ensure the correct products, quantities and finishes are being dispatched.
- Ensure all orders are packed securely and appropriately to minimise the risk of damage during transit.
- Prepare orders for collection by couriers and customers.
- Receive and put away stock deliveries; assist with loading and unloading.
- Learn and maintain our stock management IT system to keep accurate stock levels for the purchasing and sales teams.
- Assist with stock checks and monthly inventory management.
- Report stock discrepancies, damaged products or issues with orders promptly.
- Respond to queries from the sales team via our internal tagging system.
- Update customer orders with tracking and dispatch information.
- Maintain an organised, clean and safe warehouse environment.
- Support the wider warehouse team with general duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who takes real pride in doing a job properly. Experience in a warehouse environment would be beneficial, but attitude, reliability and attention to detail are equally important.
You will ideally be:
- Highly organised and methodical.
- Extremely detail-oriented, particularly when checking orders.
- A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a small team.
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Physically capable of handling and moving boxes and stock, including lifting items in excess of 20kg.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Practical and willing to get stuck in wherever needed.
- Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player.
- Someone who takes pride in presentation and understands the importance of sending every order out in perfect condition.
Desirable: Forklift (FLT) licence; prior experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
