Launch your career in modern retail.
Whether your ambition is to become a Buyer, Merchandiser, Ecommerce Manager or Retail Commercial Manager, this role will give you the knowledge, experience and commercial grounding to get there.
Are you organised, commercially curious and looking for a career where no two days are the same?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's best-known leather retailers and gain hands-on experience across buying, merchandising, ecommerce and marketplace trading. You'll work with experienced retail professionals and develop the commercial skills that underpin a successful career in today's retail industry.
As a digital-first retailer with a successful store network, you'll gain experience of both online and physical retail—learning how products are selected, launched, marketed and managed across our website, online marketplaces and stores. From analysing sales and planning stock to launching new collections online, you'll play an important role in ensuring the right products reach the right customers through every sales channel.
What you'll be doing
You'll support the Buying and Merchandising team across the full product lifecycle, including:
- Raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate product information.
- Monitoring the critical path to help ensure new collections arrive on time.
- Managing product samples for buying meetings, photography, ecommerce and store displays.
- Maintaining pricing, promotions and product data across our retail systems.
- Helping allocate stock between our warehouse, stores, website and marketplace partners to maximise sales and availability.
- Preparing products for launch across our ecommerce website and online marketplaces by ensuring product information, imagery and descriptions are accurate and engaging.
- Monitoring sales performance and identifying opportunities to improve stock availability and product performance across both stores and online channels.
- Supporting promotional campaigns and seasonal trading events.
- Researching competitors and online marketplaces to help identify commercial opportunities.
- Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Ecommerce, Marketing, Stores and Suppliers to keep products moving efficiently from supplier to customer.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, has a great eye for detail and is excited by the fast-moving world of retail.
You'll ideally have:
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good Excel/Google Sheets and IT skills.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues and suppliers.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A positive attitude, curiosity and a genuine desire to learn and develop.
An interest in retail, fashion, ecommerce or consumer brands is a must, but your attitude, ambition and willingness to learn are more important than previous experience.
Why join us?
This is much more than a job—it's a golden opportunity to build a successful career with a business that has been creating quality leather products for over 70 years and is now accelerating its digital-first future.
You'll gain practical experience across buying, merchandising, ecommerce, online marketplaces and retail operations, developing a broad understanding of how a successful omnichannel retailer trades. You'll learn from experienced professionals, take on real responsibility from day one and develop the commercial skills that will open the door to future opportunities across Buying, Merchandising, Ecommerce and Retail Management.
Based at our Head Office in the heart of Ambleside, you'll enjoy working in one of the UK's most beautiful locations while helping shape the future of a respected British retail brand.
