Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Solar Maintenance Roofer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing solar panel systems by performing roofing tasks, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of solar installations. Your expertise in roofing, mechanical skills, and electrical knowledge will be vital to delivering top-tier service and support to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Temporary removal and reinstallation of Solar PV panels / mounting kit
- Work closely with your team to deliver high standard & efficient job completion.
- Follow H&S standards and ensure a safe, tidy & respectful job completion.
- Use of smartphone apps to complete worklogs
- Testing & fault finding
- Reporting and communicating with the roofing manager, office team & warehouse team.
- Travel from home or our Barnsley warehouse to various sites in the company van
Experience
- Time severed roofer or a minimum of 10 years proven work experience in pitched roofing. (references will be required)
- Valid Construction Skills Health, Safety & Environment card or must be willing to attain this qualification upon employment starting.
- Valid CISRS [Scaffold Inspection] qualification or must be willing to attain this qualification upon employment starting.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Full, clean driving license
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Positive and can-do attitude
- A strong work ethic and team focused mentality
- Empathetic, friendly, and helpful manner
- Able to work under pressure.
- Willing to work away from home with occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to commute to our warehouse in Barnsley & willing to travel to and from site locations in company vehicle.
- Willing to undertake training as required by the company.
Desirable but not essential as full training can be provided
- 2 Years experience in solar PV installs on pitched, tile & slate roofs
- Harness Trained
- PASMA Certified
- Easi-Dec Trained
- Abrasive Wheels trained.
- Knowledge of MCS standards and compliance
- Working at Heights qualification
- Safe working with bird guano training
- Experience of working in domestic properties
- Experience of using a CRM system

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,440.00 per year
