About the Role
Jackson Hayes Recruitment is seeking reliable and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work on a daily supply basis across a range of primary schools in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and supporting pupils in different school environments while making a positive impact on children’s learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Assist with preparing learning resources and classroom displays
- Support pupils with additional needs in line with school guidance
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
- Follow each school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety policies
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting
- SEN experience is desirable but not essential
- A good understanding of child development and the primary curriculum
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
- Relevant training or qualifications in education or childcare
