Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting an experienced Social Work Assistant to join a well-established Child Health & Disability Team (CHAD) in Cardiff.
Working alongside Social Workers, the Team Manager and Principal Social Worker, you will provide practical and professional support in the delivery of services to children and families. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with children who is looking to develop their career within children's social care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Social Workers with the delivery of services to children and families.
- Assist with the management of an allocated caseload appropriate to the requirements of the team.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, young people and their families.
- Gather and record relevant information to support assessments and case planning.
- Contribute to the monitoring and review of children's needs and outcomes.
- Support children and families to access appropriate services and resources.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Social Workers, colleagues and other professionals.
- Promote the wellbeing, safety and development of children and young people.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and relevant policies and legislation.
Applicant Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a professional or formal setting.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to work within Cardiff and attend the workplace and other locations as required.
- Availability to start within four weeks of interview.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with complex needs.
- Previous experience within children's social care or a similar support environment.
