An excellent opportunity has arisen with the growing educational consultancy, TSO Education, for an Finance Officer (Schools & Academies) to support the provision of finance support to schools, academies and trusts.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person for this new role to help us continue to grow and strengthen the business. It is key that you are adaptable and with the ability to use your own initiative and be a proactive team player with the motivation to be successful.

Typical responsibilities will include:
- Working with the directors and finance manager to provide high level support to schools and academies;
- Supporting the provision of monthly management accounts for trusts;
- Operational and day to day support for schools across a range of accounting systems;
- Being the first point of contact for contracts and responding to queries via the helpdesk.
Experience
You will need to be experienced in finance operations and have a sound understanding of accounting principles. The most important criteria is that you have a good grasp of finance and a real desire to build a career in accounting.
Ideally you would have at some experience of working in schools' finance.
Experience of academy finance would be particularly beneficial; as would a thorough understanding of academy accounting and awareness of the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook.
Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in financial operations: putting on purchase orders, paying invoices and ensuring appropriate levels of financial control.
An accountancy qualifications would be helpful, but is not essential (and we may support the achievement of a qualification.)
