About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architect to join an established and highly regarded architectural practice in Winchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, delivery-focused Architect who enjoys taking responsibility for projects, working closely with clients and consultants, and helping to deliver high-quality buildings.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects, while also developing their project leadership and mentoring skills.
The Role
You will be involved in running projects and supporting their successful delivery from design through to construction.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Running and contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.
- Developing design and technical information through the relevant RIBA stages.
- Producing and coordinating detailed architectural drawings and construction information.
- Preparing technical documentation, reports and specifications.
- Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and wider design teams.
- Providing professional guidance to design and construction teams.
- Supporting project coordination, design development and technical delivery.
- Contributing to design-stage risk assessments.
- Helping to mentor and support junior members of the team.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment while also being confident working autonomously when required.
About You
We are looking for an Architect with:
- ARB registration and a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience working within a high-quality, design and delivery-focused architectural practice.
- Proven experience successfully running projects and coordinating project teams.
- Strong technical knowledge and a good understanding of construction.
- Demonstrable experience producing detailed drawings and technical information.
- Experience preparing reports and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with clients.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- A collaborative and proactive approach.
- The confidence to provide professional guidance to colleagues, consultants and construction teams.
Revit & BIM
Revit experience is highly desirable. You should be comfortable engaging with BIM processes and digital workflows, with the ability to use Revit as part of your project delivery.
Sector Experience
The practice works across a diverse range of sectors and complex project types. Experience in areas such as:
- Education and Higher Education
- Technology & Innovation
- Defence
- Healthcare
- Workplace and Commercial
- Residential and Student Living
- Civic, Community and Leisure
would be advantageous, although strong project delivery experience from other sectors will also be considered.
