Riverside Hub is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, takes pride in preparing quality food, and is committed to delivering excellent service.
Working as part of our kitchen team, you'll help prepare and cook food, ensure customer orders are completed accurately and delivered promptly, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support the safe preparation of meals for customers with dietary requirements and allergies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients.
- Supporting the kitchen team with cooking and preparing meals to a high standard.
- Ensuring food orders are prepared, cooked, and served in a timely manner.
- Preparing allergen-safe meals and following allergen management procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen work areas, equipment, and floors.
- Receiving and storing deliveries and rotating stock correctly.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Able to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Previous kitchen experience.
- A good team player with a positive attitude.
- Committed to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
- Confident in following allergen procedures or willing to learn.
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or catering environment is essential. Knowledge of food allergens and food safety is an advantage, and full training will be provided where required.
