Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. The successful applicant will be organised, reliable, and committed to adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, in compliance with legal and company standards
- Some nights out maybe required
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrival at designated locations
- Ensure that loads are safe and secure,
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers to coordinate deliveries
- Follow all health and safety regulations during driving and loading activities
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with experience in similar roles
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with no more than 6 points
- Experience with different types of trailers is desirable
- In date driver cpc
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes and schedules efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads safely
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
Pay: From £18.00 per hour
