We are recruiting for a Procurement Analyst on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role in a function that is at the start of a transformation journey to improve nits ways or working and ultimately value to the University.
Procurement sits within the Finance directorate which has recently transitioned into a new operating model and structure following the merger of St George’s and City Universities. This will provide the opportunity for learning and career development.
The role requires an interest in procurement (ideally public procurement) and would suit someone who is highly organised and analytical. A good relationship-builder who is organised and can prioritise tasks. The role reports directly to the Head of Procurement to support required reporting for the function as a key responsibility. This is an entry level role within the procurement function with good opportunity for development and progression
The role’s purpose is to support the Procurement Team with reporting, analysis and administration to ensure City St.George’s maximises the value from its third party spend and help ensure compliance with internal policies and external procurement legislation.
Responsibilities will include data analysis and reporting, systems ‘champion’ for finance and procurement systems, key point of contact for procurement queries, and ensuring accurate and robust record keeping and audit. Role will also have the opportunity to lead own procurement projects for development.
It is expected that the role-holder would have an interest in procurement and may have some experience within finance or procurement. The role holder would be expected to be keen to develop a career in Procurement show a desire to commence with formal CIPS qualifications. The role holder would be expected to develop a sound understanding of public contracting regulations.
An ability to extract, analyse and make sense of data and to present it in a meaningful way will be key to success in this role. Also the ability to be highly organised and manage own workload with competing tasks.
