Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking new team member, to join us as a Deputy Practice Business Manager to support the Practice Business Manager.
Experience of deputising in the absence of a Practice/Business Manager for at least 2 years, managing and developing a team in a changing and challenging environment is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication and exemplary staff management skills and be passionate about developing high quality and effective patient services to take the Practice forward in the future. Responsibilities will include working with the Practice Business Manager on the strategic development of the Practice and assist the Operations Manager, in the overall day to day operation and delivery of primary care GP services.
In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in Health & Safety & CQC compliance, writing policies, protocols and expediting Primary Care financial returns with excellent Excel and IT skills.
We are an innovative training practice that uses EMIS, with approximately 13K patients situated in purpose-built premises just outside London, in Surrey. You would be assisting in managing an enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated team of clinicians, including GPs, Nurses, HCAs, and Pharmacists, who are all fully, supported by an experienced reception and administration team.
We were CQC rated ‘Good’ in July 2018 and have an excellent QOF achievement.

The starting salary will depend on the successful candidate’s experience.
Must be able to work do some 8.00 am starts and some 18.30 pm closing shifts Monday-Friday.
Duties
- Assist in developing and executing strategic plans to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
- Supervise teams, by providing leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure operational excellence.
- Oversee financial management activities including budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting to maintain fiscal responsibility.
- Coordinate and be responsible for Human Resources functions such as recruitment, staff development, staff relations and ensuring compliance with employment policies.
- Support operational activities related to service delivery, resource allocation, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with senior management to implement policies that enhance efficiency and service quality across the Practice
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies to uphold safety and quality assurance for IPC and CQC.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake Health and Safety assessments.
- Assist in the training and development of staff.
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Can demonstrate good communication & exemplary staff management skills.
- Strong management skills encompassing strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational oversight.
- Solid financial management expertise including budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources practices such as recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and employee relations.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and organisational standards.
Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
