We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Counsel to lead our legal department and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while proactively managing risks. Your expertise will drive informed decision-making, support business growth, and uphold the organization’s integrity. Duties
- Provide expert legal guidance on corporate acquisitions including corporate conveyancing and lease assignments.
- Provide expert legal guidance on corporate governance, contractual negotiations, regulatory compliance, and risk management strategies.
- Negotiate complex agreements, including partnerships, vendor contracts, licensing, and employment arrangements with precision and clarity.
- Develop and implement policies that promote ethical practices and compliance with local, national, and international laws.
- Oversee investigations related to legal disputes or regulatory issues, coordinating with external counsel when necessary.
- Advise executive leadership on potential legal impacts of strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, or other business ventures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments to ensure ongoing compliance and proactive risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior legal executive or in a similar role within a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 2+ years PQE in corporate/commercial law.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to craft mutually beneficial agreements under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex legal issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and collaborating across functions.
- Deep understanding of corporate law, compliance standards, intellectual property rights, and employment law.
Pay: £75,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
